Job Title Program Manager, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

Reporting to the Chief Diversity Officer and Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, the Program Manager, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) works within the Rockefeller University to help recruit, develop, and retain a diverse university community. They will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to further the office's goal of increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Program Manager, DEI will work within the external community to promote STEM interests in faculty, staff, and students of diverse backgrounds. Assisting in assessing programmatic needs, creating, and delivering training related to DEI, assessing current programs and populations regarding diversity issues, and using those assessments to promote and develop new initiatives. Other responsibilities include continuing to do research on best practices in diversity initiatives and using those findings to inform decisions and assess the outcomes of initiatives with a particular focus on their impact on recruitment and retention. Will be supporting the graduate student and postdoctoral community, offering both programmatic opportunities and student support.
Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of related experience or Master's degree with at least three years of related experience; equivalent combination of education and experience, required. Must possess a demonstrated history of success working independently and as part of a team and a strong commitment to building a culture of inclusive excellence, required. Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills, Interpersonal skills, and diplomacy skills required. Must have strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priority tasks required. Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to think critically. Experience in the development of educational, cultural, and social programs designed to improve the quality of the educational, social, and professional experiences of the community in general and women and underrepresented minority students in particular. Experience in scientific research and/or graduate school education preferred.
